Wine Family Spotlight 5
Established in 1986 by Oregonian Tom Huggins, brother Jim Huggins, and a few friends, today Eola Hills Wine Cellars is one of Oregon’s largest, locally owned wineries. Our 300+ acres of vineyards can be found in the mid-Willamette Valley, where the maritime climate and rich soils create perfect conditions for growing the finicky Pinot Noir grape and other cool-climate varieties such as Pinot Gris and Chardonnay.
At Eola Hills Wine Cellars, we take great pride in how we develop and tend our vineyards: they are our legacy for future generations. We take our commitment so seriously that we chose the name, Legacy Estate, for our newest and most beautiful vineyard property, located within the Eola-Amity AVA of the Willamette Valley, located 10 miles west of Salem, Oregon.
As long-term farmers and good stewards of the land, we’re committed to sustainable wine grape growing. We advocate low-input viticulture, taking into consideration the unique characteristics of each vineyard site when making farming decisions.
Our vineyards are dry farmed, which lessens the potential for runoff and helps to protect groundwater sources. For every vine we plant, we plant a native tree. We are committed to sustainable farming, selecting biological treatments for pests and disease and encouraging beneficial insects by planting flowers and native plant species to attract them.
The Legacy of Eola Hills continues to live on and flourish with Winemaker Steve Anderson who has been making his mark within the Oregon wine industry and Eola Hills since 1993, alongside the dedicated Assistant Steve Richards. Tom's daughter, Kylie Huggins, age 6 when the first vineyards were planted in 1982, continues to advocate these great stories around the nation as Eola Hills' National Sales Manager.
We believe the wines of Eola Hills capture the spirit and flavors of Oregon, and we hope that you agree and will raise a glass with us.
